Glendruidh House Hotel is a friendly, peaceful hotel in Inverness and an ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands. The many attractions nearby include Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield and Glenfiddich Distillery. The name Glendruidh comes from the nearby Druid's Temple, a grove of nine Oak trees positioned around stone circles.
| “Run by Michael and Christine Smith, this small. exclusive, comfortable and friendly hotel offers superb traditional cuisine using the very best fresh local produce. Ideally situated amongst several acres of gardens and woodlands overlooking Inverness and the Moray Firth, Glendruidh House was once the family home of Lord Russell Johnston, member of Parliament for Inverness, Loch Ness and Skye, and long time father of Scottish Liberalism. Look out for the delicious old fashioned puddings and indulge yourself with the comprehensive Scottish breakfasts available at Glendruidh House Hotel.” |
Owner's Description : Christine Smith loves cooking and this soon becomes evident once you have experienced her wonderful food which is all cooked on the AGA. The menu is changed every day with extensive use of many of the superb ingredients available in Scotland such as Venison, Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, fresh salmon, trout and sea bass. We use organic vegetables and we do not forget about vegetarians and people with special dietary needs - just advise us when you book and we will see that your requirements are met.
With the choice of over sixty carefully selected wines from nine countries, the list is impressive. Containing some superb and unfortunately expensive wines, it also contains many inexpensive, good value wines that will complement the food served in the dining room.
