Laurel Bank Tearoom
The Laurel Bank Tea Room has been known for decades as a convenient watering hole for those who ply the A701 between Edinburgh and Moffat. But in 2007 this tiny establishment took on a new lease of life when it expanded into the building next door to make room for what is now a Tea Room, Bistro, and Bar. The traditional tea room fare of soup and scones (made daily on the premises) is now augmented by fine wine, local beer on tap, steaks, bangers and mash, lasagne, and other hearty dishes all cooked on the premises.

Owner's Description:
Chef-proprietor Christopher Lambton keeps firm control of his trademark curry, ably assisted by Christine, Lorna, Maureen, Erica and Stuart in the kitchen – there to provide visitors with hot food, ice cream, or just a sandwich all through the day until about 8.30pm. The three public rooms host meetings, committees, and a Folk Music night on the first Thursday of the month. Laurel Bank is the village pub and can be quite busy at weekend evenings, but families and children are very welcome at all times. Large groups of cyclists, walkers and tourists are advised to book.
