The food here is all home-made with skill. There is something offered to eat all day and the home baking and sweets are particularly good with local produce highlighted. The bar is relaxed and friendly whilst the Library restaurant is a little more formal and romantic in the evenings. An ideal all round family hotel.

The Portland Arms is situated on the A99, 3 miles north of Latheron, just 15 minutes south of Wick and 25 minutes from Thurso/Scrabster.
BY Car: Take the A9 north of Inverness sign-posted Wick and Thurso. At Latheron, carry on towards Wick on the A99. The hotel is situated on the left hand side of the road as you approach Lybster. it is less than 2 hours drive from Inverness
