Should we encourage
more consumption of porridge?
The emerging documentation from number of observational and human studies
appear to confirm all along what the Scots have been saying for years
- 'Eat up your porridge' Clinical and scientific trials are demonstrating
that oats can impact on such heart disease risk factors as diabetes,
obesity and hypertension.
The question we need to ask is - "Should we promote increase
consumer awareness of oats and its multiple health benefits, and should
we encourage frequent consumption of oats and in particular porridge.
A quick search over the internet for information on porridge oats and
their health benefits have brought several interesting articles to our
attention. We have summarised these in this new section entitled 'The
Porridge Pages'.
